Senior Investigations Officer (Regulatory) | APS6
Beaumont&Beaumont; are seeking applications forSenior Investigations Officers (Regulatory) at the APS6 level to join the Regulatory Division within a CommonwealthGovernment Agency in Canberra.
This role is for full-time hours, and for an initial period of around 12 months, with the opportunity for a short extension of up to 6 months. The vacancy is based in Canberra City Centre, with hybrid work considered on a case-by-case basis.

Ideal Candidate Characteristics:
A Certificate IV in Government Investigations (PSP40416) or other similar qualifications in investigations will be highly regarded.
Experience performing investigations, or other compliance and regulatory activities within Commonwealth Government or professional environments such as accounting, commerce, finance or related fields will be highly regarded.
Experience leading investigations or audits, quality checks or similar processes individually or as a team.
Highly organised and able to complete tasks methodically and accurately while strictly adhering to compliance requirements.
Highly developed analytical skills.
Ability to interpret complex information, identify areas for further investigation, and provide timely, accurate, and well‑reasoned advice and support to decision makers.
Ability to be flexible, adaptable and responsive to the requirements of the legislative changes, and promote and support junior staff in this.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within teams and across business areas, and to build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, deliver quality outcomes under pressure,
and apply sound judgement to balance competing demands in a quick‑paced environment.
A strong commitment to working collaboratively and contributing positively to a team environment, with the ability to lead by example and support the broader strategic direction of the Agency.
Duties of the Role:
Apply a risk‑based approach to conducting investigations into potential anti‑avoidance schemes under various legislations.
Use data and intelligence tools to draw insights that proactively identify high‑risk behaviours, entities, and schemes, supporting further compliance action and contributing to the development of targeted compliance strategies.
Prepare high‑quality briefs, reports, and correspondence to inform decision‑makers and contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of policies and procedures related to electoral funding and disclosure.
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to junior staff as required, fostering capability development and high‑quality outcomes.
Other Important Information
Flexible work or work from home may be available for this role; however, details of any individual arrangement will be determined subject to operational needs and approval from the client. Candidates should therefore be prepared for this role to be an in‑office role.

To be eligible for this role you must be willing and able to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance with the Australian Government Vetting Agency, or have an existing or recently inactive clearance of that level.As such, you must be an Australian citizen to obtain that clearance.
