The venue is set above the original underground wine cellar and offers one of the country's most comprehensive collections of European and boutique Australian wines. Steves features a stylish casual dining restaurant, bar, garden, and wine store, creating a vibrant hospitality destination.
The space also serves as a versatile function venue, accommodating intimate dining experiences as well as large cocktail events for up to 250 guests. Team members join a hospitality environment focused on quality, atmosphere, and memorable guest experiences.
Role Description :
The Restaurant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Steves Nedlands in Perth, WA. This role oversees day-to-day restaurant operations, including managing the dining room and bar, coordinating reservations and functions, and ensuring smooth service across all shifts.
The Restaurant Manager leads and supports front-of-house team members, handles scheduling, and collaborates closely with the kitchen and bar teams to deliver consistent, high-quality food and beverage experiences.
Responsibilities include : maintaining service standards, monitoring guest feedback, managing floor operations, and assisting with stock control and presentation of the venue.
The role also involves supporting wine and menu promotions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and fostering a positive, professional workplace culture.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have :
- Strong focus on Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with experience creating memorable guest experiences in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Demonstrated Hiring and team leadership capabilities, including training, coaching, and performance management of front-of-house staff.
- Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively between guests, team members, and kitchen/bar staff.
- Solid understanding of Food & Beverage operations, including menu knowledge, wine service, and basic stock and inventory practices.
- Prior experience in restaurant or venue management, preferably in premium or fine dining settings.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage peak periods and multiple functions simultaneously.
- Knowledge of local licensing, health, and safety regulations relevant to hospitality venues.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required; formal hospitality or management qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
