Griffith NSW | Full-Time | $95,000-$105,000 + super | Established general practice

Lead with purpose. Build a outstanding team culture. Help shape the next chapter of an established general practice.

Great practices don’t happen by accident. They are built by great people, strong leadership and a culture where people genuinely enjoy working together.

At Kookora Surgery, we want our practice to be a place where our team feels supported, valued and proud of the work they do. A place where people communicate openly, help each other and share a genuine commitment to providing excellent care to our community.

Kookora Surgery is an established general practice in Griffith, and we are looking for a Practice Manager who wants to do more than simply manage the day-to-day — someone who can combine strong operational leadership with genuine people leadership.

You may already be an experienced Practice Manager, which would be highly regarded. Or you may have built your management career elsewhere in healthcare and be ready to bring that experience into general practice.

What matters most is that you understand healthcare, you know how to lead, and you believe a successful practice is built on both strong operations and a strong team.

Why you’ll enjoy this role

A genuine leadership opportunity

– influence both how the practice operates and how it feels to work here.

Lead and develop a capable healthcare team

– mentor people, recognise strengths and help your team grow in confidence and capability.

Shape a positive team culture

– create an environment where people feel supported, valued and accountable.

Work closely with the Directors

– have real input into the ongoing development and direction of the practice.

Make practical improvements

– strengthen systems,

workflows and the way the practice works every day.

About the role

As Practice Manager, you’ll provide overall leadership and day-to-day management of Kookora Surgery, working collaboratively with the Directors and contributing to the ongoing direction and development of the practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Working closely with the Directors as part of the practice leadership team, providing operational insight, contributing to planning and supporting the ongoing development of the practice
- Attending Board meetings and contributing to management discussions, providing updates on key practice matters and ensuring agreed decisions and actions are followed through
- Leading, mentoring and supporting the reception, administration and nursing teams
- Overseeing day-to-day practice operations, staff rosters, workflows and service delivery
- Establishing clear expectations, responsibilities and accountability across the team
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, probation, performance management and staff development
- Maintaining accreditation readiness, compliance and key practice requirements
- Overseeing relevant financial administration, weekly timesheets and employee leave records
- Working collaboratively with the practice’s bookkeeper, accountant and external advisers
- Supporting PIP, Medicare and other relevant practice programs
- Keeping the Directors informed of significant operational, workforce,

financial, compliance and emerging practice matters
- Identifying and implementing improvements across systems, workflows, patient experience and team effectiveness

What you’ll bring

We're looking for someone with established management experience within healthcare. General practice experience would be highly desirable, but it isn't essential. We are equally interested in hearing from experienced healthcare managers from other settings who understand the complexities of leading people and operations in a clinical environment.

You’ll ideally bring:

- Demonstrated healthcare management or senior operational leadership experience
- Strong people leadership skills, with experience mentoring and developing teams
- A warm, engaging and approachable communication style
- Confidence making decisions, setting expectations and providing clear direction
- The ability to navigate difficult conversations with fairness and respect
- Strong organisation, prioritisation and follow-through
- Experience improving systems, processes and workflows
- An understanding of healthcare compliance, quality and risk
- Sound judgement and a calm, practical approach when challenges arise
- A genuine commitment to creating a positive, respectful and high-performing workplace culture

Could this be your next chapter?

If you're an experienced healthcare leader who gets as much satisfaction from seeing your people grow as you do from seeing a practice run well, we'd love to hear from you.

This is an opportunity to become an important part of an established local practice, build meaningful relationships with your team and Directors, and have a genuine influence on the future of Kookora Surgery.
