The role

We're looking for an experienced, licensed pest management technician in both general and timber pests to deliver the practical component of the following two courses:

- General Pest Management: CPPUPM3005 Manage pests without applying pesticides, CPPUPM3006 Manage pests by applying pesticides, and CPPUPM3018 Maintain equipment and pesticide storage area in pest management vehicle
- Timber Pest Management: CPPUPM3008 Inspect for and report on timber pests, and CPPUPM3010 Control timber pests

You will train the students in line with the practical requirements required for students to be deemed competent for these courses.

This is an ongoing contract engagement, operating as an independent contractor under your own ABN

What you'll be doing

- Sourcing a suitable property for students to complete their practical training
- Supplying the chemicals, tools and equipment needed for practical training sessions




- Conducting and supervising students on-site pest management training
- Demonstrating safe pesticide handling, PPE use, application methods, equipment maintenance and vehicle storage requirements
- Guiding students on inspection techniques and reporting, including to AS 4349.3
- Assessing student competency against the relevant units and completing assessment records to RTO standards
- Providing clear, constructive feedback to help students become job-ready
- Liaising with the AIT team on student progress and scheduling

What you'll need

- A current Victorian Pest Control Licence covering general pest and timber pests
- Substantial hands-on industry experience in general and timber pest management
- Evidence of current industry skills and knowledge
- An active ABN
- Your own current public liability insurance
- Your own reliable vehicle suitable for pest management work, and a current driver's licence
- Access to the chemicals, tools and equipment needed for general and timber pest work
- Access to a practical training site or sites
- Experience training, mentoring or supervising apprentices or new technicians
- Robust communication skills and patience with people new to the industry

What we offer

- $600 per day + GST (if registered), which includes an allowance for chemicals and equipment used
- Ongoing contract engagement
- Flexibility to set your own training days
