12-month assignment | $60.26 per hour + super | National locations We are seeking an experienced APS6 Quality Officer to join a national government organisation supporting quality, consistency and continuous improvement across early childhood planning and decision-making.
This is a 12-month assignment withhybrid flexibility that can be based from any office location nationally, including Brisbane, Gold Coast, Townsville, Cairns, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Ipswich or Logan .
About the role
Working with a team focused on supporting children with developmental delays or disability and their families, you will provide quality assurance, technical advice and operational support across complex matters.
You will work with a high degree of autonomy, applying legislation, policies, procedures and standards to support quality and consistent decision-making. The role also involves working closely with internal stakeholders, providing guidance and mentoring, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control activities relating to early childhood planning and/or decision-making.
- Provide technical, professional, policy and operational advice on complex issues.
- Support and mentor team members to improve decision-making, technical capability and knowledge.
- Identify trends and contribute to continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.
- Develop and implement improvement strategies aligned with organisational goals.
- Liaise with key stakeholders and provide education and information relating to early childhood planning.
- Manage escalations and work towards appropriate resolutions.
- Interpret and apply legislation, policies,
procedures and standards to support compliance and effective outcomes.
About you
You will be an experienced government, quality, planning or disability professional who can confidently work through complex matters and provide sound advice.
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Strong experience interpreting and applying legislation, policies, procedures and standards.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical, skilled, policy or operational advice on complex issues.
- Experience mentoring or coaching team members and managing competing priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Experience in early childhood planning and/or working with children with disability is highly desirable.
- NDIA planning experience of at least two years is highly desirable.
- A qualification in allied health, education or disability would be advantageous.
