About the role

Membership Managers play a vital role in fostering strong, long-lasting relationships with the Property Council's diverse membership base. You will champion member engagement, retention, and growth by providing exceptional support, identifying opportunities to enhance members’ experience, and actively contributing to the strategic direction of the Membership team. We are versatile on the location for where this role can be based Australia wide across the major capital cities.

Key responsibilities

- Develop and implement an engagement plan for division members to maximise their membership value
- Proactively work with unengaged members to ensure they are aware of the value and benefits available to them from their membership
- Manage a streamlined onboarding process for new members
- Provide personalised welcome communications and introduction of resources to new members
- Conduct regular check-ins with new members in line with the member onboarding plan
- Collaborate with Executive and Commercial Directors to understand their strategic objectives and ensure alignment
- Engagement plans are tailored for each Division and is aligned with the national engagement plan




- Deliver agreed membership revenue for each Division in line with annual target
- Participate in monthly performance and forecasting discussions to monitor progress and identify ‘at risk’ memberships
- Manage a small portfolio of high-value key accounts (approximately 2–3 members) as part of the national Account Management Program
- Develop and implement tailored account plans, coordinate cross-division opportunities, and act as the primary point of contact to deliver a seamless member experience
- Record all member interactions, communications, and touchpoints in the CRM, ensuring a comprehensive and up-to-date record of engagement

The ideal candidate will have

- Proven skills in building quality relationships and engaging stakeholders effectively
- Experienced in budgeting and high-level commercial skills
- An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills Outstanding ability in strategic and creative problem solving with an ability to solve difficult problems, identifying causes, offering and evaluating alternative solutions
- A self-starter with a history of project management success and the ability to unite a team of people and persevere when challenges exist




- Ability to work to tight deadlines often working across multiple key projects consecutively
- Ability to make complex business decisions based on assessment of facts, assumptions and implications and to communicate the rationale for these decisions
- Ability to structure activities to utilise the collective skills and abilities of the team efficiently and in a high-energy setting
- Ability to relate to people from a wide range of positions and backgrounds and forge a professional relationship
