As a Senior Designer, you'll help shape the future of HBF's digital experiences across our products and channels, designing solutions that balance member needs, business objectives and technical feasibility. Working as part of the Experience and Design Chapter, you'll collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts and stakeholders to create user flows, interfaces, prototypes and digital experiences that improve member outcomes. You'll use research, data and customer insights to inform design decisions and help deliver connected experiences across the member journey. You'll champion human-centred design practices, communicate design rationale clearly and contribute to informed decision-making throughout discovery, design, testing and delivery. This is a 12 month max term opportunity.

Key responsibilities

- Design user flows, information architecture, wireframes, interaction models and high-fidelity digital experiences
- Create implementation-ready design artefacts and documentation for development teams
- Translate research findings, customer needs and business requirements into intuitive digital solutions
- Use qualitative and quantitative insights to identify opportunities and measure design outcomes
- Plan, conduct and synthesise research activities to inform design decisions
- Lead usability testing, validation and iteration activities to continuously improve experiences
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance member needs, business outcomes and technical constraints

- You're a customer-focused designer who enjoys solving complex problems and turning insights into experiences that make a real difference.




- You combine strong UX and interaction design capability with a cooperative mindset, and you're comfortable influencing stakeholders and guiding conversations through evidence-based recommendations.
- You'll be equally comfortable working strategically to consider the broader customer journey when designing digital experiences.
- You're passionate about creating experiences that are simple, accessible and meaningful for customers.

Requirements

- Demonstrated experience designing end-to-end digital experiences across web, mobile or digital products
- Strong UX, interaction design and prototyping skills with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma or similar platforms
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and trade-offs
- Proven ability to scope, estimate and plan complex design initiatives to support successful delivery within agile, cross-functional teams
- Experience leveraging customer research, analytics and usability testing to inform design decisions
- Experience mentoring other designers
- Knowledge of accessibility principles and human-centred design practices

Work location and arrangement

HBF is headquartered in Perth, WA and has offices across Australia in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Townsville. Many roles operate in a hybrid model, combining in-office collaboration with flexible work arrangements.
