The location and Lifestyle:

Mt Carbine has a rich history of tungsten production and is strategically and conveniently located only 75 kms from the beautiful seaside town of Port Douglas in Far North Queensland where the Daintree Forest meets the Outstanding Barrier Reef. The Mt Carbine Tungsten mine is 120km North of Cairns International Airport via sealed highway. Neighbouring the Mt Carbine township on the Mulligan Highway, The Mt Carbine Tungsten Mine is central to Mossman, Port Douglas,



Mareeba, Julatten and Mt Molloy. For those with families, there is a choice of private and public schools, as well as universities and technical education facilities in the region.

About the Role:

Do you have a background in site systems, OHS, occupational health, nursing, paramedicine and mining, and want to protect the long-term health of a mining workforce? This role combines health and hygiene with the governance and assurance that give our site, our leaders and the regulator confidence that our safety systems are working effectively and add value to the workforce and operation.

What you’ll do:

Coordinate our occupational hygiene monitoring program, including dust, silica and noise sampling

Coordinate health surveillance, pre-employment medicals, fit testing and fitness for work testing

Maintain our Safety and Health Management System documents, registers and the Mine Record

Coordinate audits, inspections and critical control verification, and track findings to closure

Support risk assessments and incident investigations, and prepare clear safety and health reports

What you’ll bring:

Essential: Certificate III or higher in an aligned discipline, such as WHS, nursing, paramedicine or occupational health

Essential:



Strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to confidentiality

Essential: A current Queensland C Class driver's licence

Highly regarded: Mining, resources or heavy industry experience

Highly regarded: Current AHPRA registration as a nurse or paramedic

Highly regarded: Experience with health surveillance, industry medicals or hygiene monitoring
