The Marketing and Communications Manager plays a key role in managing the delivery of Somerset College's marketing, communications, branding and community engagement activities.
The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of Somerset College's marketing and communications activities, including graphic design, publications, website management, digital marketing, content development and brand application in accordance with priorities established by the Head of Community Engagement. The role coordinates workflow across the marketing team to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and highly organised marketing and communications professional who enjoys balancing hands-on design and content creation with project management and team coordination. The successful candidate will be passionate about building brand awareness, enhancing stakeholder engagement and showcasing the exceptional Somerset College experience through compelling visual and written storytelling.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the delivery of Somerset College's marketing and communications activities, campaigns and projects in accordance with approved strategies and priorities.
Create and deliver engaging content across digital, print and stakeholder communication channels, ensuring brand consistency, visual excellence and message alignment.
Manage the production of key College publications, including the Yearbook, College magazines, brochures, annual reports, marketing collateral and communication materials.
Design and produce branded templates, creative assets, advertisements, signage, presentations and other marketing collateral in accordance with College brand standards.
Manage website content and updates, digital marketing activities, social media channels, digital advertising, SEO/SEM and audience engagement initiatives.
Monitor campaign performance, analyse marketing data and provide insights to support continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers while coordinating workflow,
priorities and project delivery across the marketing team.
Support community engagement, alumni relations and storytelling initiatives that enhance the College's reputation and strengthen stakeholder connections.
Maintain and champion the Somerset College brand through effective communications, graphic design, publications, website content and marketing best practice.
Maintain brand standards across all marketing and communication materials, ensuring consistency of messaging and visual identity.
ABOUT YOU
You are a creative, highly organised and detail-oriented marketing and communications professional with strong graphic design and content creation capabilities. You enjoy managing multiple projects, coordinating priorities and producing high-quality marketing materials that bring a brand to life. Equally comfortable designing publications, updating websites, creating content and managing campaign delivery, you take pride in producing work that strengthens stakeholder engagement and showcases the exceptional Somerset College experience.
Demonstrated experience in marketing and communication, ideally within an education, not-for-profit or service-based environment.
Strong graphic design, communications and branding expertise.
Experience managing publications, website content and digital marketing activities.
Aptitude to use analytic tools to measure and improve marketing and campaign performance.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects and allocate workflow across a marketing team.
Strong integrity, reliability, adaptability, discretion and resilience.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Business or a related discipline.
Current Working with Children Blue Card or the ability to obtain.
Physical capacity to participate in a dynamic school setting and undertake occasional manual tasks associated with marketing and event activities.
