About the Role:

Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Business Partner and working as part of our multidisciplinary People and Organisational Development team, the Human Resources Business Partner provides practical, responsive and contemporary HR support to leaders and employees across Anglicare Tasmania.

This is a true HR Business Partner role with a strong employee and industrial relations focus.

You will partner with leaders across a broad range of people matters including employee and industrial relations, workforce planning, organisational change, performance and conduct, workplace investigations, grievances, fitness for work, leave management, recruitment, retention and the broader employee lifecycle. You will work directly with people leaders, providing advice, coaching and practical support to help them confidently manage people matters and build their capability as leaders.

As part of our broader People and Organisational Development team, the position will also provide support across work health and safety, workers compensation and injury management. This provides an prospect to develop experience across the full employee lifecycle and work alongside HR, safety and other organisational specialists.

The role may be based from our Launceston, Burnie or Devonport office and will support services across Northern Tasmania.

What you will be doing:

- Providing practical HR and employee relations advice to managers and employees across a diverse range of workplace matters.
- Managing employee relations matters including performance, conduct, disciplinary processes, grievances, leave management, fitness for work and workplace change.
- Providing industrial relations advice, including interpretation and application of Enterprise Agreements, employment legislation and organisational policies.
- Undertaking and supporting workplace investigations and preparing explicit and professional employment documentation.
- Partnering with managers and leaders across assigned business areas to support workforce planning and build leader capability.
- Supporting and participating in disciplinary meetings, investigations and other formal employment processes.




- Contributing to recruitment, organisational change, retention and broader employee lifecycle activities.
- Leading and contributing to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Reviewing HR and employee relations trends and identifying opportunities to improve people practices and processes.
- Supporting the Senior Human Resources Business Partner with complex industrial relations matters and preparation for external proceedings where required.
- Working alongside our Work Health and Safety function to support workers compensation and return-to-work matters, incident reviews, workplace inspections and other safety initiatives.
- Contributing as an active member of a collaborative, multidisciplinary People and Organisational Development team.

The successful applicant will possess demonstrable competency, knowledge, understanding and/or skills in the following areas:

- Contemporary human resources practices, particularly employee and industrial relations.
- Experience supporting performance, conduct, disciplinary, grievance or other employee relations matters.
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation, Enterprise Agreements, policies and employment conditions.
- Strong judgement and problem‑solving skills, with the confidence to provide practical and considered HR advice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prepare clear and professional employment documentation.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict‑resolution skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with leaders and employees.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload, balance competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to work across different areas of the People and Organisational Development function.
- An understanding of work health and safety obligations. Experience with workers compensation or injury management would be advantageous.
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or a related field.
- At least one year of experience working within a Human Resources department.

What we offer you:

- an attractive salary of $106,921.36 – $111,782.32 per annum + superannuation, depending on relevant experience and recognised service;
- salary packaging of up to $15,900 per annum;




- where you hold a relevant university degree, a 7% Graduate Salary Loading may apply in addition to the Enterprise Agreement wage rate, subject to the requirements of the Enterprise Agreement and provision of appropriate evidence;

The successful applicant will be required to:

- provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check if you are applying for the first time or have renewed your registration since 1 February 2021;
- present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type National Police Check (no older than 12 months);
- provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
- provide a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical; and
- provide a current provisional or full Australian Driver Licence.

On commencement the successful applicant will be required to undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.
