The Software Engineer designs, builds and maintains software features across our product platform, working closely with product and design on new functionality.
What you'll do
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code to deliver recent product features.
- Collaborate with product and design on the design and delivery of new features.
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions with the wider team.
- Debug and resolve production issues as they arise.
- Contribute to technical documentation to support the wider team.
- Write and maintain automated tests to support code quality and confidence in releases.
- Participate in sprint planning, estimation and retrospectives.
- Support triage and investigation of bug reports from users and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with QA to ensure features are properly tested before release.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve code quality and development practices.
What we're looking for
- 2+ years' professional software engineering experience.
- Strong fundamentals in at least one modern language or framework.
- Experience working in an agile team environment.
- Comfortable working with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Valuable understanding of testing practices, including unit and integration testing.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Australian work rights.
- Desirable: experience with cloud platforms or CI/CD pipelines.
- Desirable: exposure to a contemporary frontend or backend framework relevant to our stack.
