Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this newly appointed role will work across the business to support commercial activities, growth initiatives, contract management and risk management. This is a unique opportunity for an engineer with commercial qualifications or commercial experience to influence key business decisions and contribute to the continued success and expansion of a diverse industrial organisation.
About the Role
As Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in supporting commercial performance and strategic decision making across the business. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting commercial activities across Coogee's manufacturing, storage, distribution and emerging business operations.
- Developing and evaluating financial models, business cases, pricing strategies and profitability initiatives.
- Supporting business growth opportunities, acquisitions, expansions and major capital projects.
- Leading the negotiation and management of commercial agreements, supply contracts, sales contracts and service agreements.
- Coordinating contract review, administration, renewals, pricing mechanisms and dispute resolution processes.
- Identifying and managing commercial, contractual, operational and supply chain risks.
- Ensuring commercial activities comply with relevant regulatory, governance and procurement requirements.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers and external advisers.
- Working collaboratively with operational, finance, business development and executive leadership teams to support business objectives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Qualifications in Engineering, supported by commercial qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial management, contract management, business development, procurement, finance or a related commercial discipline.
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, chemical, mining, energy or other heavy industry environments.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, including financial modelling, investment evaluation, pricing strategy and margin analysis.
- Proven experience negotiating and managing complex commercial agreements and contracts.
- Experience supporting strategic growth initiatives, major projects and business improvement opportunities.
- Strong understanding of commercial risk management and corporate governance principles.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
- High levels of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
