The Venue Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the venue, ensuring smooth service, strong team performance, and a consistently high standard of hospitality. With a focus on guest experience, training, and venue organisation, this role plays a key part in bringing the vibrant, inclusive vision of the venue to life.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, manage and hold the team accountable, giving clear direction including service feedback and keeping expectations clear
- Provide necessary tools for junior bar staff to carry out their accountabilities to expected standards
- Reward and recognize team members' positive contributions
- Oversee all aspects of stock control and ordering to ensure productive, cost-effective operations, including managing wet and dry goods and setting par levels
- Record and report comps and discounts accurately, minimising wastage across the venue
- Work closely with the Procurement Manager to prevent stock variance through regular process reviews and proactive loss prevention
- Handle ordering for bar and venue equipment, collaborating with the General Manager to manage controllable operational expenses
- Draft the weekly roster, ensuring it reflects staff availability and approved leave while aligning with operational needs and labour budgets
- Ensure all front-of-house and back-of-house areas are consistently clean, well-presented, and maintained to a high standard
- Coordinate all maintenance activities, from scheduling minor repairs to collaborating with the Operations Team and General Manager on major projects
About you
- Proven leadership experience in hospitality management, with a track record of leading teams, driving accountability, and achieving operational goals
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and achieving revenue and wage targets
- Expertise in guest experience delivery, with deep knowledge of service standards, food and beverage operations, and event execution
- Thorough understanding of compliance and safety regulations, including liquor licensing, WHS, and Fair Work legislation
- Experience implementing and maintaining venue policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Ability to manage feedback and complaints and foster a positive, high-performing workplace culture
