Details: At Skills Canberra, we support and regulate Australian Apprenticeships.

As the Team leader, Field Officer program, your primary focus will be working directly with employers and relevant stakeholders to support high-quality apprenticeship and traineeship arrangements. You will:

- manage and assist the Field officers in their day-to-day operations
- provide and assist in stakeholder engagement
- provide compliance and complaint monitoring and resolution
- play a central role in how the team within the wide VET operations and Support area collaborate with each other and external stakeholders.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

- A sound understanding of Australian Apprenticeships legislation and policy and demonstrated experience in promoting Australian Apprenticeships to the broader community is well regarded.
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
- White card (general Construction Induction Card) is required.
- Silica and Asbestos Awareness certificates-or the ability to obtain them within the first four weeks.




- An Australian-issued driver licence to operate a vehicle within the ACT.

Note: This is a temporary position available from 25 November 2026 until 24 May 2027. Selection may be based on written applications and referee reports only. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

To support operational requirements, preference may be given to candidates who are available to work full time for the entire advertised period. This position is an activity-based working (ABW) environment. Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.

Note: Under the ACTPS employment framework you may be placed in another role where required for the productive administration of the service.

Where an offer of employment is for a fixed-term period, any related temporary contracts within the Territory will be issued in compliance with the requirements and applicable exceptions outlined in the Fair Work Act.
