The Opportunity

We are seeking a commercially driven Area & Store Manager to oversee store operations and support the growth and expansion of Doughkyo Australia.

Initially, this will be a hands-on role combining Store Manager and Area Manager responsibilities. You will take direct responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of Doughkyo's first Melbourne store, while also helping establish the systems, procedures and operational standards required for future growth.

As the Doughkyo network expands, the role will progressively transition toward multi-site Area Management, supporting new store openings, store managers and future franchise partners.

Area Manager Responsibilities

- Lead,



coach and develop store teams to achieve strong operational and financial performance.
- Support the successful opening and establishment of new Doughkyo stores.
- Monitor store KPIs, including sales, labour, COGS, wastage and profitability, and implement improvement strategies.
- Drive sales and customer growth through store initiatives and local marketing opportunities.
- Ensure consistent Doughkyo brand standards, product quality and customer experience across all locations.
- Conduct regular store visits, performance reviews and operational audits.
- Identify opportunities for network expansion and support the development of new locations.
- Develop and implement operational procedures, training and standards that can be replicated across future stores.
- Build strong relationships with store teams, management, franchise partners, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Support future franchise partners with operational guidance and ensure compliance with Doughkyo's standards and requirements.

Store Manager Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring smooth and efficient trading.
- Lead, roster, recruit, train and develop the store team while managing labour costs.
- Monitor sales performance and implement initiatives to achieve sales and customer growth targets.
- Manage COGS, stock levels, ordering, inventory control and wastage.
- Maintain high standards of product quality, presentation, food safety, cleanliness and customer service.
- Ensure opening and closing procedures, cash handling and daily operational processes are completed correctly.




- Build a strong team culture focused on accountability, customer service and operational excellence.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve operational issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, food safety and workplace requirements.
- Provide regular reporting on sales, labour, COGS, wastage, staffing and overall store performance.

About You

- Proven experience in multi-site management , preferably within hospitality, retail, food or franchising
- Strong commercial mindset with a demonstrated ability to drive sales, profitability and operational performance
- Experience leading, coaching and developing store teams
- Strong understanding of store operations, KPIs, labour management and cost control
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised, proactive and results-oriented
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and customer experience
- Comfortable working in a growing business where processes and responsibilities will continue to evolve
- A genuine passion for food, hospitality and building a successful brand
