About this opportunity

The Weighbridge and Waste Levy Officer is responsible for the efficient operation of weighbridge services, delivering high-quality customer service to all site users while ensuring accurate and compliant waste data management. This role may be asked to assist with gate duties at Transfer Stations across the region during peak time. The position is based out of the Bromelton Central Waste Facility, but you may be required to work from any of Council’s facilities within the Scenic Rim.

Additionally, you’ll also …

- Provide day‑to‑day incoming and outgoing weighbridge operations for customers.




- Inspect incoming waste to determine when to divert resources to recycling facilities and when to charge fees, and ensure compliance with environmental licence conditions.
- Liaise with contractors to coordinate the collection and/or processing of recyclables from all Council waste facilities.
- Review, amend and report transactional data relating to State Government Waste Levy requirements.
- Manage commercial waste account holders, including gross and tare weights, monthly account summaries and following up discrepancies.

About you…

- A Certificate III in Business Administration or other relevant qualification, or an equivalent level of relevant experience.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including an ability to communicate effectively to provide a positive customer experience and conflict resolution.
- Experience in waste operations (or other similar regulatory environment), in particular weighbridge operations.
- Knowledge of processes relevant to waste levy, waste operations and environmental compliance in a waste facility setting.
