Due to ongoing growth and expansion we are hiring a Junior Insolvency Accountant in our Melbourne office. This role will provide you with exposure to a full range of formal insolvency appointments such as voluntary administrations, liquidation, receiverships and bankruptcy as well as informal engagements such as investigative accounting and restructuring/turnaround engagements. You will work directly with Principals in a collegiate work model and are actively encouraged and supported to pursue your own career objectives.
Key responsibilities
Onboard new insolvency clients into relevant systems
Prepare standard notifications for recent appointments
Prepare and monitor ASIC statutory lodgments
Assist in drafting reports for key stakeholders, including creditors
Operate insolvency accounting software to input, process, and maintain client data
Prepare and lodge BAS for insolvency appointments
Generate and analyse financial reports for insolvent entities
Conduct investigations into transactions and financial statements
Maintain records and ensure statutory requirements are met
Manage tasks related to the finalisation of liquidation and bankruptcy matters
About you
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
Have commenced, or are willing to commence CA or CPA
At least 1-2 years of working experience in an accounting or audit role
Familiarity with Xero and MYOB accounting software is advantageous as well as proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain a high standard of work
