Netball Queensland is looking for a creative, social content specialist to lead the social media presence of Netball Queensland, the Queensland Firebirds and Nissan Arena. ABOUT NETBALL QUEENSLAND
Netball Queensland is the peak body for netball in Queensland, responsible for the growth, promotion and administration of the sport across the state. We are also home to the Queensland Firebirds, Queensland's premier netball team competing in Suncorp Super Netball, and Nissan Arena, one of South East Queensland's leading sports and entertainment venues.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will lead the creation, delivery and optimisation of organic social media content across Netball Queensland, Queensland Firebirds and Nissan Arena.
This is a hands-on role for a content creator who thrives on capturing authentic moments, creating engaging short-form video and building online communities through platform-native storytelling.
You'll work closely with athletes, coaches, staff, partners and fans to bring stories to life while driving audience growth, engagement and brand loyalty.
You'll also play a key role in helping the Queensland Firebirds achieve their ambition of becoming the most-followed team in Super Netball.
Your responsibilities will include:
Lead social media content execution across Netball Queensland, Queensland Firebirds and Nissan Arena
Develop and manage content calendars across multiple brands
Create and publish engaging content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and emerging platforms
Capture authentic content at training sessions, games, events and community programs
Produce high-quality short-form video, Reels, Stories and other platform-native content
Drive audience growth, engagement and community connection
Deliver real-time social media coverage on match days and major events
Monitor performance and use insights to continually improve content outcomes
Foster a collaborative content culture by bringing together ideas from across the organisation.
ABOUT YOU
You have a passion for sport, entertainment and social storytelling. You understand online audiences, thrive in fast-paced environments and know what it takes to create content that performs.
To be successful, you'll bring:
2-3+ years' experience growing social media audiences for brands, sporting organisations, athletes, media or entertainment properties
A strong portfolio showcasing social-first content and short-form video creation
Advanced content capture and editing skills using smartphones and tools such as CapCut
Strong knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube
Experience analysing social media performance and translating insights into action
Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills
Canva proficiency
A highly collaborative, positive and proactive approach
A passion for creating content that grows communities and drives engagement.
Experience within sport, entertainment, media or the creator economy will be highly regarded.
You must hold, or be able to obtain before commencing employment, a current Working with Children Blue Card.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This role will require occasional travel and regular work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, particularly during competition and event periods. A current Blue Card (or the ability to obtain one) is required prior to commencement.
