About the Chance

Join the Armidale Rural Referral Hospital Operating Theatres as a Clinical Support Officer, providing administrative support to the NUM and healthcare team.

The Operating Theatres provide critical care and surgical services to Armidale and surrounding communities, as well as acting as a referral centre for smaller centres within the Tablelands cluster.

About the Role

You will provide a range of administrative and operational support, including:

- Accurate data entry and reporting across HR, finance, purchasing, revenue and speciality systems.
- Maintaining ward/unit rosters and approved roster changes.
- Supporting workforce administration including recruitment, rostering, leave, payroll and performance reviews.
- Assisting with staff recruitment and replacement from casual pools.
- Supporting quality accreditation, incident management and numerical profiling activities.
- Monitoring staff registrations and alerting the NUM to any lapses.
- Ordering and monitoring medical and non-medical supplies and equipment.
- Assisting with patient care information, reports and correspondence.
- Coordinating meetings, documentation and daily staff scheduling to support multidisciplinary ward rounds.
- Organising staff travel and accommodation when required.
- Undertaking general administration to support the healthcare team.





You will also support activities focused on achieving the National Emergency Access Target (NEAT) and National Elective Surgery Target (NEST), including service rounding and reviewing inpatient and outpatient services as required.

Where You’ll Be Working

Armidale Operating Theatres consist of three theatres and an Endoscopy Procedure Room, with two to three operating lists per day.

Services include Orthopaedics, Ophthalmic, General, Obstetrics/Gynaecology, Urology, Emergency and Endoscopic procedures.

You will receive orientation and training within the unit, supported by staff and the NUM, along with online HETI education.

Requirements:

Hold or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent
