Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.
Make a meaningful difference behind the scenes of patient care by joining a dedicated team that helps ensure every patient experiences a smooth and supportive journey from admission through to discharge. We are seeking Admissions Officers on a permanent full-time and part-time basis to provide high-quality administrative support within a dynamic healthcare environment.
In this role, you will support the accurate and efficient administration of patient admissions, transfers and discharges while delivering a professional, customer-focused reception service. You will maintain the integrity of patient information through accurate data collection, entry and management within iPM and associated health information systems.
Working across both planned and unplanned admission pathways, you will support Day Surgery admissions, facilitate patient access to inpatient services and contribute to effective patient flow throughout the hospital. Working closely with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams, you will play an important role in supporting patient safety, compliance and the efficient delivery of healthcare services.

Successful applicants will work Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays, with rotating weekly start times of 6:00am, 6:30am, 7:00am and 8:30am. What you will bring to the role
- Demonstrated experience providing high-quality customer service in a busy front-line environment, including managing difficult conversations, resolving customer concerns and maintaining a positive customer experience.
- Demonstrated experience undertaking a broad range of administrative functions, including reception, data entry, document management and processing of time-sensitive information,
with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to gather, verify and accurately record complex information, including experience maintaining data integrity and identifying and correcting discrepancies.
- Demonstrated experience using patient administration systems, databases or equivalent information systems, including using technology to manage records, processing transactions or generating reports.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise competing tasks, adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment where interruptions and competing demands are common.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, departments or locations, including contributing to positive team outcomes and service delivery objectives.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining confidential records and handling sensitive information in accordance with organisational policies, privacy requirements and professional standards.
- Demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills, including experience liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders to obtain information, resolve issues and facilitate positive outcomes in challenging situations.
