Bring your experience and your passion for helping people live well.

At Well and Care Co, we care about the person behind each support plan: what matters to them, what they enjoy and what they want to achieve. We are building a boutique, multicultural Gold Coast team that brings warmth, curiosity and professionalism to everyday support.

You will work directly with our Founder & Director, whose hands‑on experience spans home care, aged care, hospital settings and NDIS support. We want people who take pride in meaningful work and want to grow with a team that invests in their learning.

What we offer

- Paid induction and required training: time to ask questions, understand how we work and prepare for the role.

- Participant‑specific preparation before independent work: understand each person's preferences, goals, agreed support plan and relevant tasks.

- Hands‑on support from our Founder & Director: practical guidance, discussion of support situations and constructive feedback to help build your confidence and capability.

- Clear guidance and early check‑ins: an agreed supervisor and escalation contact, so you know who to approach with questions or concerns and can keep learning with support.

- Room to develop: opportunities to strengthen your skills and take on greater responsibility as the team grows.

- Vehicle allowance: required and authorised work‑related use of your own car is paid at the applicable SCHADS Award rate.

Our values

- People first: understand each participant's interests, preferences and goals, and support the choices they make.

- Genuine care: bring patience, kindness and curiosity to everyday moments, helping people feel heard, respected and included.

- Growth with support:

we welcome questions and honest feedback, and help our workers build confidence and capability.

- Cultural respect: different backgrounds, languages and perspectives are valued. We take time to understand one another.

Bilingual applicants are warmly welcomed; a second language is not essential.

Our standards

Professional boundaries and mature judgement are essential. We look for:

- Professional maturity and integrity: use sound judgement, own mistakes, record honestly and know when to seek guidance.

- Professional boundaries: understand and consistently maintain clear skilled boundaries in your work.

- LGBTQ+ friendly and inclusive: respect people of all sexual orientations and gender identities, and provide welcoming support without judgement. This is an essential standard of the role.

- Reliability: arrive prepared, honour accepted shifts and communicate early if something could affect support.

- Participant‑led practice: respect choice, consent and privacy; work within agreed plans and your competence, and raise safety concerns promptly.

- Willingness to learn: ask questions, accept constructive feedback and apply it.

The role

Current shifts mainly involve community access and transport. As we support more adults, duties may vary with each participant's needs, choices and agreed support plan.

- Community access: help participants enjoy cafés, beach visits, parks, local activities and suitable trips to the mountains.

- Appointments and transport: drive participants to medical, allied health and other appointments, activities and community destinations, with practical support during visits where needed.

- Shopping and everyday errands: assist with grocery shopping, op‑shop visits and other errands, supporting choice and independence.

- In‑home support:

provide companionship and help with daily routines, meal preparation and agreed household tasks, including light cleaning and laundry.

- Personal care: willingness to assist when required is essential, with consent, training and competence confirmed before undertaking it.

- Daytime shifts Tuesday to Saturday , including mornings and afternoons. Shift days and times are agreed around participant needs and your regular availability.

- Our starting workload is 12+ support hours per week . Your individual hours and shifts will be agreed around participant matching and your regular availability.

Experience and practical requirements

- Clear spoken and written English for participant communication, handovers and support notes.

- Ideally, two to three years or more of relevant hands‑on experience in disability support or related care. Less formal or family caring experience is considered alongside equivalent professional maturity and practical capability.

- Australian work rights, current First Aid and CPR , and a current NDIS Worker Screening clearance .

- A relevant Certificate III in Individual Support , Certificate IV in Disability Support , or equivalent qualification is desirable .

- A driver's licence and your own reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle . Cover for work‑related use and participant transport must be confirmed before transporting participants.

- A smartphone, with required orientation and task preparation completed before commencement.

Career development

As we welcome more participants, our overall weekly workload has the potential to grow to 30+ support hours. We are keen to help dependable workers grow their hours, skills and responsibilities , with future opportunities for permanent employment and, over time, leadership or management.

Bring your experience, interests and curiosity

We take time to understand your strengths, interests and experience, so we can make thoughtful participant matches and help you do your best work. Shared interests can create enjoyable, meaningful support; participant choice and professional boundaries guide every match.
