Adelaide
Viking Events is looking for a hands-on Team Leader to join our Adelaide depot.
The person we need will coordinate our small team and ensure smooth operations at the depot - leading by example, communicating clearly and getting their hands dirty.
This is not an office-based position. You will be a senior working member of the crew, helping repair, prepare, clean, and load equipment.
What You’ll Do
Allocate and follow up on the crew’s daily tasks
Help ensure the crew follows company processes and safety requirements
Work alongside the crew in the depot and on event sites
Make sure equipment is cleaned, repaired and ready for hire
Complete basic repairs and maintenance using hand and power tools
Load and unload trucks and trailers
Assist with deliveries, collections and event installations
Help keep the depot clean, safe and organised
Check that daily tasks are completed properly
Identify damaged or missing equipment
Report staffing, safety, equipment and maintenance issues to the General Manager
You will not be responsible for sales, quoting or customer account management.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a practical all-rounder who likes to work hard, can give transparent direction to their team and provide updates to the General Manager.
The right person will have:
Previous experience as a team leader, leading hand or senior crew member
Experience working in a depot, yard, or other hands-on environment
Confidence giving clear daily instructions
A mechanical mindset and experience using tools
Practical repair and maintenance skills
Good judgement and practical problem-solving skills
Strong safety awareness
Reliable transport to Para Hills West
The right to work in Australia
An MR truck licence and LF forklift licence are highly regarded but are not essential. We may assist the right person with obtaining these licences.
Experience in events is helpful but not required. We welcome applicants from equipment hire, construction, civil works, farming, transport, warehousing, waste services, maintenance and other hands-on industries.
What We Offer
A hands-on leadership role with clear responsibilities
Direct communication and support from management
On-the-job training in our equipment and operating procedures
Varied work across depot operations and major South Australian events
Uniform and personal protective equipment
