Assistant Accountant | Broad Role | Global Business Exposure

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll join a small and experienced finance team in a broad Assistant Accountant role that offers exposure across the full accounting function.

This is a hands-on position where you'll be involved in the day-to-day running of finance while continuing to develop your technical accounting skills. You'll work closely with experienced professionals, gain exposure to a wide range of responsibilities and be given the opportunity to build your experience beyond the traditional Assistant Accountant remit.

Responsibilities include:

- Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash flow activities
- Supporting monthly, quarterly and annual accounting processes
- Preparing reports and maintaining accurate financial records
- Maintaining fixed asset registers and supporting reconciliations
- Assisting with audit preparation and external audit requirements
- Supporting BAS, GST, FBT and other compliance obligations




- Responding to internal and external stakeholder enquiries
- Assisting with a significant ERP implementation project
- Providing broader support across the finance function as required

The role will suit someone who enjoys variety, is comfortable being in the detail and wants to continue learning within a supportive environment.

About You

Ideally studying towards your CA or CPA, you've gained experience in a similar role and are looking to broaden your exposure.

We're looking for more than someone who just lists strong Excel skills and attention to detail on your CV. We want someone who is genuinely curious, enjoys understanding how the numbers fit together and isn't afraid to ask questions. You'll be proactive, take ownership of your work and be keen to continue developing within a supportive and experienced finance team. Ability to speak Japanese is highly regarded.
