Job Description
About The Position
Position Location: Port Pirie
Position Status: Full Time Ongoing
If you’re a tradie or handy person who takes pride in a job well done and wants your work to mean something, we’d like to hear from you. At Uniting Country SA (UCSA), our maintenance crew keeps our sites and properties in good nick, including homes managed by Uniting Country Housing.
We care for country people across regional South Australia.
Our services support people and families through residential and foster care, disability services, homelessness support, domestic and family violence services, financial wellbeing and emergency relief and many more social and comm munity services.
We’re looking for another practical, reliable person to join the team as a Maintenance Officer. You’ll get stuck into a mix of repairs, preventative maintenance and property jobs across UCSA sites, work that directly helps keep secure, well‑maintained places for people in our communities who need them most.
Working with the Maintenance Coordinator, you’ll help get jobs done safely, properly and on time. We’re after someone who can turn their hand to different maintenance tasks, takes pride in their workmanship and understands the importance of working safely.
You’ll also help deliver maintenance projects within agreed timeframes and budgets, while meeting the relevant safety, legal and contractual requirements.
- Keeping an eye on our buildings and assets and letting us know what needs fixing or improving.
- Planning your day and getting jobs done properly and on time.
- Tackling day-to-day maintenance and repairs across UCSA programs,
properties and sites.
It’d be great if you have:
- Painting experience or another related trad,definitely a bonus.
You’ll need:
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Good practical carpentry skills.
- A solid understanding of building and maintenance work.
- At least two years of relevant hands‑on experience, whether paid or voluntary.
A carpentry trade certificate would be well regarded, but practical skills and solid experience count too.
You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between Uniting Country SA sites or interstate as required.
