Make a meaningful difference every day Nextt is looking for a compassionate, reliable and experienced female Disability Support Worker to join our team and provide person-centred support to a client based in Kew .
This is an excellent opportunity for a mature and dependable support worker who enjoys building genuine connections, getting out into the community and supporting someone to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.
The role involves supporting a person living with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and diabetes . We are looking for someone who is patient, understanding and confident providing practical support while encouraging independence and participation.
The successful worker will ideally be available between 9:00am and 3:00pm , with flexibility across the week. As support is required 7 days a week , being flexible with days and availability will be highly regarded.
About the role As a Disability Support Worker, your responsibilities may include:

- Providing personalised, respectful and consistent support
- Supporting community access and social activities
- Attending medical and other appointments
- Supporting participation in hydrotherapy , including being comfortable getting into the water
- Going for walks and encouraging an active lifestyle
- Assisting with meal preparation
- Supporting with general household domestic tasks




- Helping maintain a safe and comfortable home setting
- Encouraging independence and participation in everyday activities
- Supporting routines and helping the client achieve their personal goals
- Building a positive and trusting professional relationship
- Providing support in a calm, patient and respectful manner

The successful worker will need to be comfortable working in a home environment where smoking and hoarding are present , and approach these circumstances with professionalism, patience and respect.
About you We are looking for someone who is:

- Female
- Mature, reliable and dependable
- Compassionate, patient and understanding
- Confident supporting people with an ABI or similar support needs
- Comfortable supporting a person with diabetes
- Happy to participate in hydrotherapy and get into the water
- Comfortable assisting with domestic tasks and meal preparation
- Confident supporting community access and appointments
- Flexible and available across a 7-day service
- Comfortable working independently
- Able to build positive and professional relationships
- Respectful of individual choices, privacy and personal circumstances
- Passionate about helping people live their best lives





Previous experience supporting people with ABI, neurological conditions, diabetes or complex support needs will be highly regarded.
Pay Rates E3.1 Casual – In Home and SIL
SCHADS Award E3.1 Casual Rates (before tax):

- Base hourly rate: $36.81
- Afternoon shift: $40.49 (Shift ends between 8pm and midnight, Monday to Friday)
- Active Night shift: $41.23 (Finishes after midnight or starts before 6am, Monday to Friday)
- Saturday: $51.54
- Sunday: $66.26
- Public Holiday: $80.99

Essential Requirements To be considered for this role, you will need:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid and CPR
- Working with Children Check , where required
- Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- Comprehensive vehicle insurance
- Ability to undertake required manual handling and participant-specific training

Location The client is located in Kew , making this role particularly suitable for workers based in Taree, Port Macquarie or surrounding areas , with Kew situated conveniently between the two locations.
