Wearn Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on a permanent part-time basis, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
You will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll process across three company payrolls, all processed weekly. The role is suited to an experienced payroll professional who values flexibility while maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance, confidentiality and employee service.
Key Responsibilities
- Process three company payrolls accurately and on time each week.
- Verify and reconcile timesheets, attendance records, overtime, allowances and deductions.
- Maintain employee payroll records, leave balances and payroll data.
- Process new starters, employee changes, payroll adjustments and terminations.
- Interpret Enterprise Agreements, Awards and employment conditions.
- Complete Single Touch Payroll, superannuation and payroll tax requirements.
- Perform payroll reconciliations and assist with payroll audits and reporting.
- Respond to payroll enquiries from employees and managers.
- Support workers compensation payroll administration and continuous process improvement.
About You
- Previous experience with end-to-end payroll processing, ideally including weekly payrolls.
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality.
- Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to meet fixed weekly deadlines.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- A proactive, qualified and service-focused approach.
- Experience in civil construction, quarrying, transport, logistics, manufacturing or another blue-collar workforce environment will be highly regarded.
