Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) – Urgent Care Centre

Colac Area Health is seeking an experienced and motivatedRegistered Nurse with emergency nursing experience to join our high acuity Urgent Care Centre as anAssociate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM).

Our Urgent Care Centre operates as the front line of acute and emergency care for the Colac Otway region — managing the full spectrum of high-acuity presentations, including trauma, stroke, STEMI, respiratory emergencies, and critical care. We see the full breadth of acuity across ATS Category 1–5, from immediate life-threatening emergencies through to lower-acuity presentations. It's a rural setting with genuine emergency-scope practice — autonomous decision-making, rapid assessment, and resuscitation-level care, where you're a key decision-maker from the moment a patient arrives.



This is an ideal opportunity for a senior emergency nurse who wants hands-on acute clinical work paired with real leadership responsibility.

- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
- Significant experience in Emergency, Urgent Care, ICU or Critical Care nursing
- Current or willing to update/obtain Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
- Experience triaging patients in accordance with the Australasian Triage Scale
- Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care, Emergency Nursing or equivalent or, willing to work towards
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate teams in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated experience managing:
- Acute Stroke patients
- Mechanical ventilation
- BiPAP/CPAP/Mechanical ventilation
- Deteriorating and critically unwell patients
- Adult and paediatric patient retrieval
- Previous ANUM, Team Leader or Clinical Nurse Specialist experience
- Experience mentoring and developing staff
