The role

As an Assistant Store Manager you will:

- Help lead and develop a team of Drivers, Yard Assistants, Retail Assistants, and Store Allrounders (6-20 people, store dependent)
- Contribute to achieving sales and budget for your store
- Manage inventory, yard presentation, and safety




- Coordinate the store's trucks and the day's delivery run sheet
- Provide excellent customer service to trade and retail customers, from weekend gardeners to large builders

Hours of the role

Our store opening hours differ between stores. Depending on the store and the day, our stores open between 6.30-7am and close between 3.30-4.30pm. All stores are closed on Sundays and most public holidays.

Skills & experience

In applicants we look for:

- Experience influencing teams from the shop floor
- A willingness to learn to operate mobile equipment and drive a truck
- An ability to stay calm when things are busy and lots of things are happening at once
- Pride in presentation, cleanliness, and safety
- An ability to form positive customer relationships
- An ability to grasp opportunities to increase sales and explore how we can better and more comprehensively serve customers
- A willingness to learn the ins and outs of store operations in our niche industry
