Anderson's Automotive & Air Conditioning Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis with an attractive 4 day work week (Monday-Thursday, 7am-5:30pm). This is a hands‑on technical role located in Kyogle, NSW, where you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining light vehicles to the highest standards. As a Light Vehicle Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers' vehicles are safe, reliable, and performing optimally. This position is essential to our business operations and allows you to utilise your technical expertise in a professional, well‑equipped workshop environment.

Key responsibilities

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in light vehicles using diagnostic equipment and your technical expertise.
- Perform routine maintenance services including oil and filter changes, brake inspections, tyre rotations, and fluid top-ups.
- Repair and replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brake systems, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Perform air conditioning servicing and repairs as required (or a willingness to obtain qualifications).
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Provide technical advice and recommendations to customers regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and maintain tools and equipment in good working order.

What we're looking for

- A recognised automotive trade qualification or equivalent experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic.
- Current driver's licence (manual transmission experience is advantageous).
- Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing light vehicles.




- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and computer-based diagnostic tools.
- Robust knowledge of mechanical systems in modern vehicles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and techniques.
- Air conditioning certification or willingness to obtain certification is highly desirable.
