Media & Communications Coordinator / Advisor - Infrastructure Services Sector!

Are you an experienced Media & Communications Coordinator / Advisor looking to join a highly respected organisation where your media expertise, writing capability and ability to develop engaging and effective communications are genuinely valued?
Invoke Talent is proud to be partnering with a highly regarded infrastructure organisation responsible for managing a significant asset portfolio and diverse services across the ACT . This is an outstanding opportunity to join an established Communications & Engagement function, supporting important media, communications and stakeholder engagement activities across a large and complex organisation.

This is a hands on Media & Communications Coordinator / Advisor position where you'll lead and support proactive and reactive media activities, working closely with journalists, media outlets, senior leaders and stakeholders across the organisation. You'll contribute to media relations, copywriting and editing, media releases, spokesperson preparation, crisis communications and multimedia content , while ensuring communications are timely, engaging and aligned with organisational messaging and tone.

This position offers a minimum 6 month contract , with options to extend, as there is ongoing strategic programs until 2035!

This is an hourly rate based position offering excellent remuneration , and the security of stable contract employment within a highly regarded organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute proactive and reactive media activity , identifying emerging issues, media risks and opportunities and supporting appropriate organisational responses.
- Act as a key point of contact for media enquiries , developing media releases, holding statements and other written communications.




- Build and maintain effective relationships with journalists and media outlets , proactively identifying opportunities to promote the organisation and its work.
- Identify, brief and prepare senior spokespeople for interviews, media responses, press conferences and campaign activity.
- Develop high-quality written and multimedia content , including media releases, website content, video, photography and social media assets.
- Support crisis and incident communications , ensuring timely and consistent messaging and contributing to incident management activities when required.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation to gather information, identify communication opportunities and ensure accurate and effective messaging.
- Support Executive communications , including speeches, all-staff communications, campaigns, events and broader Communications & Engagement initiatives.

Skills and Experience for Optimal Success and Performance:

- Demonstrated experience as a Media & Communications Coordinator, Communications Advisor, Media Advisor, Public Relations Advisor or similar communications focused position.
- Proven experience building relationships with journalists and media outlets , responding to media enquiries and developing proactive and reactive media content.
- Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills , with the ability to develop clear and engaging content appropriate to different audiences.
- Experience across online communications,



website content and social media , with an understanding of effective communication practices.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to work across a complex organisation and support senior leaders and spokespeople .
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications or a related discipline , or equivalent relevant experience.
