Our newly formed Australian Financial Markets team acts on high-end, high-value and strategically significant transactions for leading global and Australian clients. While this role sits in our Melbourne office, you will be joining a globally integrated financial markets team.

The Role

Our Melbourne office is seeking an experienced Associate to join its Financial Markets team, with a particular focus on leveraged finance.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on complex domestic and cross-border financing transactions, advising leading lenders and sponsors and taking an active role in transaction execution.

This is an opportunity to work closely with experienced Partners, develop direct client relationships and contribute to the continued growth and development of our Australian Financial Markets practice.

The role will involve:





- Advising leading lenders and sponsors on leveraged finance and complex cross-border financing transactions;
- Managing day-to-day transaction execution, including communication with clients, counterparties and other stakeholders;
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating finance documentation;
- Coordinating and supervising the work of junior lawyers; and
- Contributing to the continued growth and development of the Financial Markets practice.

We Are Seeking Candidates With:

- Admission to practice in Australia and approximately 3-5 years' post-admission experience;
- A strong background in banking and finance, including acquisition finance, leveraged finance, and syndicated and bilateral facilities, both secured and unsecured;
- An excellent academic record and solid analytical skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple transactions;
- A commercially minded and pragmatic approach, with a strong commitment to client service and developing client relationships; and
- The ability to confidently communicate with others across the Firm, with a collaborative, friendly and down-to-earth approach.
