The business delivers technically challenging work across water, utilities, resources, transport and specialist infrastructure, with in-house civil, structural, mechanical and electrical capability.
About the role
Lead complex water, utilities and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects across South East Queensland from planning through to successful delivery. You'll combine project delivery, commercial leadership and technical expertise across major tenders, live projects and emerging project leaders, with the opportunity to influence how the business plans, prices and delivers its work.
Key responsibilities
- Lead complex water, utilities and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects from planning through to successful delivery
- Drive programme, cost, claims, variations, subcontractor performance and reporting, keeping commercial and delivery decisions on track
- Collaborate across precontracts and project teams to develop practical, commercially sound bids that can be delivered successfully
- Manage client, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships while maintaining clear accountability for safety,
environmental and quality outcomes
- Support and develop Project Managers and emerging leaders, providing guidance through challenging delivery issues and increasing project complexity
- Shape major tenders by bringing practical delivery insight into precontracts and commercial decisions
About you
- Engineering degree or relevant infrastructure qualification, with 5+ years' industry experience and at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Senior project management experience across complex water, utilities or multidisciplinary construction, with a strong understanding of electrical engineering or construction
- Proven commercial judgement, including experience with tendering, project finances, negotiations, claims and variations
- Solid leadership and communication skills, with the confidence to manage clients, subcontractors and project teams through challenging delivery environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Excel, plus an open driver licence, Construction Induction Card, Senior First Aid, CPR and Confined Space Entry
- Knowledge of pump fundamentals is also required; RPEQ, GC21, electrical awareness, wastewater operations, Working at Heights or EWP credentials are advantageous
