About the role
The Manager, Finance Business Advisory Partnering provides strategic financial leadership and advice to one or more NSW Public Schools divisions and Directors of Educational Leadership (DELs) or to our Executives leading our Corporate Divisions. The role supports effective financial decision-making by overseeing budgeting, performance reporting and the delivery of high-quality financial advisory services.
Leading a multidisciplinary team, you will partner closely with divisional executives and DELs to strengthen financial management practices across schools or the Education Support Division. You will also work collaboratively with Finance and Shared Services teams to deliver targeted support, build financial capability and drive continuous improvement in financial performance and resource use.

About you
We are looking for a strategic and collaborative finance leader who can provide trusted advice and drive strong financial management outcomes across the division.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience to confidently partner with senior executives and non‑finance stakeholders to influence strategic outcomes.
- Solid financial management and business advisory experience, with the ability to provide clear insights to support decision‑making.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and delivering high‑quality financial services.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, work with agility and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.
Key Knowledge and Experience
- Extensive experience in building strong relationships with executive stakeholders and in developing and implementing change initiatives.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Degree in a relevant discipline such as finance,
accounting or business or demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
