Position Scope

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organisations’s Financial Control Framework and Financial Accounting functions. Key responsibilities include financial accounting; general ledger maintenance; reconciliations and

analysis; audit process management; assist in the Budgeting and Forecasting process and the preparation of Statutory and Regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- i. Daily upload of transactions from the core banking system to the accounting system and the maintenance of general ledger mapping.
- ii. Administration of the accounting system.
- iii. Assist with the Daily Trial Balance reconciliation and that any variation is acted on promptly.
- iv. Assist with Daily and monthly portfolio movement reporting.
- v. Investigate and resolve any cashiering discrepancies.
- vi. Support reconciliation of daily electronic payments systems, including ATM, Visa, NPP, B-Pay and transactions,



and process any adjustments required.
- vii. Produce payments for government taxes, including payroll tax, general withholding tax and other payments to government organisations.
- viii. Preparation of the quarterly Business Activity Statement and the annual Fringe Benefits Tax return.
- ix. Prepare statistical and other financial reports as required, including external credit rating and debt issuance presentation slides.
- x. Supporting Community First’s various business areas to add value and form business insights through financial reporting and analytics. Examples include expense reporting; funding and retention metrics; performance reporting; margin management, capital and return on equity, business case development and ad-hoc financial reports.
- xi. Provide support and back up to the Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.
- xii. Assist with month end processes including preparation of Board and Leadership reporting.
- xiii. Assist with the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and notes to the accounts as outlined by requirements of Australian Accounting bodies and other regulatory bodies.
- xiv. Assist with the annual budget process and monthly rolling forecast.
- xv. Assist with internal and external audits.
- xvi. Provide support and back up to the Assistant Accountant in management and regulatory reporting.

Knowledge Areas

- i. High level of understanding of the Community First banking and accounting systems.
- ii. Knowledge of internal, external statutory & regulatory requirements including Accounting Standards and Prudential Standards and the relevance / linking to Community First Policies and Procedures.
- iii. Knowledge of the relationship and responsibilities of internal and external audits.

Qualifications and Experience

- 1. Bachelor degree in Business / Commerce
- 2. Computer skills (Relevant experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint and Power BI)
- 3. Strong analytical and modelling skills with advanced excel skills
- 4. Ability to communicate clearly of financial and treasury information
- 5. Studying towards professional qualification
- 6. banking and finance systems and database reporting skills
