Be the safety partner our people can rely on

Are you a WHS professional who enjoys working with people, solving problems and making a real difference to workplace safety?

Country Care Group is looking for an experienced Work Health & Safety Business Partner to join our People & Culture team at Epping.

This is an opportunity to step beyond a purely compliance-focused WHS role and partner with leaders across the business to build a strong, practical safety culture.

You’ll work across a diverse range of environments including retail, warehousing, manufacturing, offices and distribution, giving you plenty of variety and the opportunity to make a tangible impact across our national operations.

What you’ll be doing

Working closely with our People & Culture team and operational leaders, you will:

Partner with leaders to identify WHS risks and develop practical solutions

Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations

Support leaders to implement effective risk controls and improve safety outcomes

Develop and maintain WHS policies, procedures and systems

Develop and report on WHS performance metrics to the leadership team

Monitor legislative and regulatory requirements and provide practical advice to the business

Support Health & Safety Representatives and site managers on workplace safety initiatives

Partner with Return to Work Coordinators to support injured workers and safe return-to-work outcomes

Develop and coordinate WHS training, inductions and awareness initiatives

Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills

Maintain accurate WHS records, reporting and documentation

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across our WHS practices

Travel to CCG sites as required

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a practical and approachable WHS professional who can build strong relationships and influence people at all levels.

You’ll bring:

A Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (Diploma or higher highly regarded)

At least 5 years' experience in WHS, including a minimum of 2 years in an advisory, business partner or senior WHS role

Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and maintaining a WHS management system

A track record of leading complex incident investigations and driving corrective actions to closure

Experience advising and influencing senior leaders on WHS risk, performance and strategy

Experience supporting WHS across multiple sites or business units

Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and regulatory requirements, including Victorian requirements

Experience preparing WHS reporting and insights for leadership audiences

Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge when required

The ability to work confidently with everyone from frontline employees to senior leaders

Excellent organisation and time management skills

Experience working across warehousing, manufacturing, retail or national operations would be highly regarded.
