What you'll be doing

The District Clinical Information Quality Manager is responsible for the management, evaluation, standardisation, and coordination of NSLHD electronic and paper health care record forms (where relevant), noting that the position is key to moving NSLHD into complete electronic clinical information capture, ceasing use of paper clinical forms.



The position also represents NSLHD on the Statewide Forms Management Committee (SFMC) and works with Digital Health Services (DHS) to implement relevant documentation requirements, taking into account health care documentation and record standards.

The position is also responsible for management, evaluation and standardisation of all components of data quality across the service, including accuracy and reliability of patient data in eMR. This includes, but is not limited to quality audits, reporting, analysis, and education surrounding document imaging auditing, duplicate MRNs, data and documentation corrections, and incomplete discharge referrals and unsigned power notes/forms. The position is responsible for ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) associated with these components are met across all sites, and allocating the support of the Data Quality Analyst to meet demand, and implementing standardised reporting of the same.

The role provides advice and contributes to the operational effectiveness and excellence of Health & Corporate Information Services (HCIS) by developing and implementing strategies to drive clinical information and data quality innovations.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management and/or relevant experience managing clinical documentation, data quality or health care records
- Demonstrated knowledge of policies, procedures, and Australian Standards as they relate to Health Information Management, data, and clinical documentation/forms management.
- Extensive experience managing and implementing quality frameworks, including relevant reporting, as they relate to clinical information and data quality.
