Lead Safety Across Major Healthcare Construction Projects!
Take a senior role in shaping safety across major infrastructure and maintenance projects, providing expert WHS guidance in live healthcare environments! Temporary full time chance!
About your roleAs the Senior Safety Permit Officer, you will provide senior WHS expertise across construction and major maintenance activities within Metro South Health.
- Provide expert WHS advice across construction, maintenance and infrastructure activities.
- Review risk assessments, SWMS and safety documentation to ensure compliance and effective risk controls.
- Conduct site inspections, observations and compliance activities, maintaining a strong presence across projects.
- Lead or support investigations into serious and complex construction-related incidents and identify improvement opportunities.
About youYou are an experienced WHS professional who can confidently navigate complex construction environments and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Relevant WHS qualifications or extensive construction and health industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience providing WHS advice across major infrastructure or complex construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, Australian Standards and safety management practices.
- Excellent research, problem-solving, negotiation and report-writing skills.

About the Assets and Infrastructure
The Assets and Infrastructure Business Unit (A&I;) enables Metro South Health to continue to expand its scope and capacity of clinical services through the effective leadership of master-planned facility renewal and redevelopment. A&I; undertake infrastructure planning through the development of business cases to deliver on the priorities identified within the Metro South Health Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP). We further deliver the identified Priority Capital Works and Capital Infrastructure projects within defined guidelines.
A&I; leads the development of asset management capability through MSH, working towards alignment with ISO 55000 processes. We undertake audits and appropriate actions to address any identified issues with asset performance, lifecycle planning, information management and governance.
