As Coordinator Operations Management, you’ll play a key role in strengthening how Council supports, measures and improves its operational services. You’ll lead customer and business support functions, use data and insights to drive better outcomes, and ensure strong governance, compliance and quality assurance across the portfolio.

About the role:

Lead the effective delivery of customer and business support services across Council’s operations, providing oversight of operational systems, processes and performance.

You’ll combine strong people leadership with business and operational expertise to monitor performance, identify improvement opportunities and ensure effective governance, compliance and quality assurance.

Working closely with the Manager Operations and Waste and key stakeholders across Council, you’ll provide reporting, insights and strategic advice to support informed decision-making and help drive continuous improvement.

You will:

Lead customer and business support services

Lead and develop customer and business support services that enable effective operational delivery and provide high-quality outcomes for internal and external customers.

Monitor performance, data and business outcomes

Oversee performance reporting and data analysis, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to improve operational performance and support informed decision-making

Ensure governance, compliance and quality assurance

Strengthen operational governance, compliance and assurance processes, ensuring services and practices meet legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements





Oversee operational systems and processes

Provide oversight of operational systems and processes, identifying opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency and service performance

Drive continuous improvement and capability

Lead initiatives that improve processes, practices and ways of working, while building capability and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement

Provide strategic advice and insights

Prepare reports, analysis and recommendations for senior leaders and stakeholders to support effective decision-making and Council’s operational priorities

Lead and develop a high-performing team

Provide effective leadership, coaching and development to build team capability and achieve organisational objectives

Support innovation and organisational readiness

Research and implement innovative approaches to operations management and support Council’s readiness for future systems, including ERP implementation

About you:

You are an experienced operations, business performance or service management skilled with the ability to connect people, systems, data and processes to improve organisational outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Demonstrated experience leading customer, business support, operations or service management functions
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience in operations management, business improvement, systems, service delivery, compliance or a related field
- Robust experience monitoring and analysing performance, data and business outcomes




- Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvement through better processes, systems and practices
- Strong governance, compliance, assurance and quality management experience
- Experience leading, developing and managing staff and building team capability
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to translate complex information into practical operational solutions
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience preparing reports and providing advice and insights to senior leaders
- Strong financial management and budget monitoring skills Experience working within local government or a similar public sector environment will be highly regarded.
