Clinical Nurse Consultant (Gde 1) - Mental Health Emergency Department - Casual

We are seeking an experienced and motivated mental health clinician who thrives in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care. This role will suit a team-oriented leader with strong clinical expertise, a commitment to service improvement, and the ability to support positive outcomes for consumers, carers, and the broader health service.

Selection Criteria

Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). At least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience and in addition who has approved post registration nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which the employee is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.

Demonstrated evidence of strategies used to maintain current knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in the relevant specialty.

Demonstrated ability to apply expert knowledge to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.





Demonstrated advanced knowledge and clinical expertise in mental health assessment, risk assessment, crisis intervention, and care planning, with the ability to provide expert consultation and leadership in the management of consumers presenting with complex mental health needs within an emergency department setting.
