Job Description
Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy Department and work in our new Compounding Suite. Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.
Services Are Provided Through Our Six Main Campuses
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg. Join us at an exciting time of growth. With our state-of-the-art compounding suite set to open in early 2027, this role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the establishment of a new service, contributing to the development of operational processes and helping to embed safe and efficient compounding practices from the ground up.
About The Role
A permanent, full-time opportunity exists for a Grade 3 Pharmacy Technician - Compounding Services.
The role will require staff to be flexible with their working hours to meet the changing operations demands and will include working after hours and on-call. Staff may also be required to travel and work across Northern Health campuses, programs and partner organisations. The Grade 3 Pharmacy Technician - Compounding Services supports the safe and efficient delivery of aseptic compounding services, including the production of aseptic, cytotoxic and biological treatments for patients at Northern Health. Working under the guidance of the senior technician, the role requires knowledge and skills in aseptic dispensing and contributes to the secure, accurate and timely delivery of compounded therapies in accordance with relevant standards, procedures and departmental requirements.
To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have
- A minimum of 3 years full time experience as a qualified Pharmacy Technician
- A minimum of 1 years' experience in aseptic production
- Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills
- Possess well developed self-management skills including the ability to meet timelines and prioritise competing demands
