About the role
We are seeking experienced Drill Fitters to join our permanent team within our Curragh Mine Operations. As a Drill Fitter, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance, and repair of drilling equipment. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work in a energetic mining services environment. You will be based in Blackwater, QLD 4717, and will be integral to ensuring our drilling equipment operates at peak performance and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Service drilling equipment and components with precision and attention to detail
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on drill rigs and associated equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults on the drill rig fleet
- Repair and replace worn or damaged components to maintain equipment reliability
- Conduct quality inspections of completed work to ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment conditions
- Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently and safely
- Adhere to all safety protocols, workplace procedures, and environmental regulations
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in equipment performance and maintenance processes
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Drill Fitter or in a similar drilling equipment maintenance role within the mining or resources sector
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems commonly found in drilling equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety in the workplace
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality workmanship standards
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanical fitting, welding, or drilling equipment maintenance would be advantageous
