Management Accountant / Junior Finance Business Partner

The role
You'll be a key finance contact for a group of program managers. You'll help them manage the financial performance of their programs. It's a broad role that combines business partnering with hands-on accounting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Business partnering: maintaining forecasts, providing financial analysis and advice, and building financial models for business cases and recent service initiatives
- Budgeting and forecasting: developing budgets with managers and supporting the forecasting cycle
- Financial reporting: preparing monthly reports for the board and managers
- Month-end and year-end: accruals, provisions, reconciliations and other core accounting processes
- Funding administration: maintaining the funding register, reconciling funding accounts, preparing acquittals and leading year-end funding reconciliations for audit
- Fixed assets and payroll accounting:
maintaining the asset register and depreciation, and handling payroll reconciliations with the Payroll team
- Projects: contributing to process improvement and key finance initiatives
About you
- Bachelor of Business, Commerce or equivalent, and CA/CPA qualified ideally
- Solid experience in end-to-end financial accounting, budgeting, reporting and analysis
- Experience developing business cases and financial models
- Strong Excel skills and a good understanding of accounting standards
- An excellent communicator who can act as a trusted advisor to non-finance managers
- Experience with SAP is highly regarded
- Exposure to aged care, disability or government-funded programs is a bonus, but not essential
