What You Will Do:
As the Team Leader Water Treatment, you will be responsible for the operational oversight of the region's water treatment plants, intakes, dam, and bulk water supply reservoirs.
Your primary focus will be to ensure our water treatment facilities are:
- Operational - delivering continuous, secure, and efficient water treatment and supply services.
- Well Maintained - coordinating maintenance activities to maximise asset reliability and performance.
- Fit for Purpose - ensuring sufficient water supply is available across the region while maintaining compliance with the NHMRC Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and Council's Drinking Water Quality Management Plan.
You will also provide leadership and direction to a team of Water Treatment Plant Operators, supporting them in achieving operational excellence while fostering a strong culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
What We Are Looking For:
- Certificate 3 in Water Industry Operations - primary specialisation (either water or sewage) and 12 months certified experience; or more than 4 years' Operator experience within Treatment Plants.
- Certificate IV in Water Operations or the ability to obtain within 24 months.
- C Class Driver's Licence.
- WH&S; Competency Card for CPCCOHS1001A - Work Safely in the Construction Industry or 30215QLD - Course in General Safety Induction (Construction Industry), or a willingness to obtain this card before commencement.
- Demonstrated ability in leading and collaborating effectively to build strong relationships in a close-knit team environment, inspiring enthusiasm and a strong work ethic in team members.
- Technical skills in operation and maintenance of pumps and chlorination systems.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain medium to large Water Treatment Plants, a bulk storage network, re-chlorination reservoirs, raw water intakes and storage dam in a water supply system.
- Demonstrated computer skills, report writing and data recording ability.
