Guardian Safety Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Fire Panel Technician to join our growing New South Wales team, servicing clients across Sydney, the South Coast and regional NSW .

We're looking for an experienced fire technician with strong knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems, fire indicator panels (FIPs), programming and fault finding .

While fire detection and panel work will be a key focus of this position, this is a multi-skilled fire technician role , and the successful applicant will also be required to carry out routine inspection, testing and servicing of a broad range of fire protection equipment.

A current electrical licence is not essential , however it would be highly regarded.

Fire Panel Technician - Sydney / South Coast

Guardian Safety Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Fire Panel Technician to join our growing New South Wales team, servicing clients across Sydney, the South Coast and regional NSW .

We're looking for an experienced fire technician with strong knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems, fire indicator panels (FIPs), programming and fault finding .

While fire detection and panel work will be a key focus of this position, this is a multi-skilled fire technician role , and the successful applicant will also be required to carry out routine inspection, testing and servicing of a broad range of fire protection equipment.

A current electrical licence is not essential , however it would be highly regarded.

What You'll Be Doing

- Service, test, fault-find and repair fire detection and alarm systems.

- Diagnose and rectify faults on Fire Indicator Panels (FIPs), detection loops, field devices and associated equipment .

- Carry out fire panel replacements, upgrades and system modifications.

- Assist with fire detection installations, extensions and upgrade projects.





- Perform system testing including cause-and-effect and interface testing.

- Test interfaces between fire alarm systems and other building services, including mechanical shutdowns, EWIS/OWS, lifts, security and other essential services.

- Investigate intermittent and complex fire alarm faults and provide practical rectification recommendations.

- Carry out routine inspection, testing and servicing of fire protection equipment in accordance with AS 1851 and other applicable Australian Standards.

- Service and inspect equipment including portable fire extinguishers, fire hose reels, fire hydrants, emergency and exit lighting, fire doors and other fire safety systems and equipment .

- Identify defects and non-compliances and provide clear recommendations for rectification.

- Maintain accurate service reports, programming records and commissioning documentation.

- Liaise directly with clients, facility managers and other contractors while onsite.

- Travel throughout Sydney, the South Coast and regional NSW as required.

What We're Looking For

- Previous experience working as a Fire Alarm Technician, Fire Panel Technician, Fire Service Technician or similar role .

- Strong experience with fire detection and alarm systems and Fire Indicator Panels.

- Experience programming and fault-finding across multiple fire panel brands would be highly regarded.

- Experience carrying out routine servicing of portable fire equipment, hose reels, hydrants, emergency and exit lighting and other fire protection equipment .

- Good understanding of AS 1670.1, AS 1851 and other relevant Australian Standards.





- Ability to read drawings, zone block plans, cause-and-effect documentation and system schematics.

- Ability to work independently and take ownership of jobs from investigation through to completion.

- Good communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with clients.

- Current Australian driver's licence.

- Willingness to travel throughout Sydney, the South Coast and regional NSW when required.

- NSW Electrical Licence is not essential but would be a strong advantage.

Experience with systems such as Notifier, Ampac, Pertronic, Tyco/MX, Taktis or similar platforms would be highly regarded. Manufacturer-specific training is also an advantage; however, further training can be provided for the right applicant.
