Operations Coordinator – Commercial Fencing & Construction
Guardian Fencing is a growing commercial fencing contractor based in Oakleigh South. We are looking for an organised, proactive and hands‑on Operations Coordinator to help manage the day‑to‑day coordination of our projects, installation teams and workshop. This is not purely an administration role. We are looking for someone who enjoys coordinating people and projects, solving day‑to‑day operational issues and making sure jobs are properly prepared and delivered.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate daily and weekly job schedules
- Allocate installers and coordinate field teams
- Review job packs, drawings and project requirements before work starts
- Ensure materials, fabricated items, equipment and deliveries are ready for each job
- Coordinate suppliers and material deliveries
- Communicate job requirements clearly to installers and fabricators
- Coordinate site access, inductions and project requirements
- Monitor jobs in progress and follow up outstanding tasks
- Be the first point of contact for routine installer and site issues
About you
- Experience in construction, trades, fabrication, manufacturing, project coordination or a similar environment
- Experience coordinating trades or field teams is highly regarded
- Strong planning, organisation and communication skills
- Confident dealing with tradespeople, suppliers and clients
- Ability to read basic construction drawings/plans
- Robust attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
- Comfortable managing multiple jobs at once
- Able to take ownership, follow up people and ensure tasks are completed
- Fencing, gate, steel fabrication or commercial construction experience is advantageous but not essential
