Our client is a well-established not-for-profit aged care provider committed to delivering quality care and support to the community. They are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join their team on a 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who is confident managing an end-to-end payroll within the aged care sector.
The role
Working as part of the Finance team, you will be responsible for delivering an accurate and timely end-to-end payroll function across the organisation for approximately 200 employees.
Key responsibilities will include:
- End-to-end payroll fortnightly for approximately 600 employees
- Ensuring employee payroll information is maintained accurately and in a timely manner
- Reviewing payroll information and identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Providing advice and support to employees and managers on payroll-related matters
- Payroll reporting, reconciliations and compliance requirements
- Ensuring payroll activities are completed in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and employment conditions
- Working collaboratively with Finance, HR and operational teams to resolve payroll queries and issues
- Contributing to the improvement of payroll processes and systems where appropriate
The successful candidate
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer who is confident working in a complex payroll environment and can hit the ground running. You will ideally bring:
- Previous experience in a Payroll Officer or similar role
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll requirements and employment conditions
- Experience within aged care, community services, health or the not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded.
- Experience working within a complex or high-volume payroll environment
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Robust communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive and collaborative approach
- Experience working with payroll systems and the ability to quickly learn new systems
