Troocoo Government is partnering with a Federal Government agency to recruit multiple APS5 Compliance and Investigations Officers to support a growing regulatory function. These are full-time fixed-term opportunities based in either Canberra or Melbourne, offering an initial 12-month contract and an annual salary of $88,834 - $96,848 p.a. + 15.4% super.
About the Roles
Working within a high-performing regulatory team, you will support compliance reviews, investigations, financial disclosure activities and regulatory processes associated with Australia's electoral funding and disclosure framework. These roles will suit candidates who enjoy analysing complex information, working within legislative frameworks and contributing to evidence-based decision making.
Multiple positions are available across both Compliance and Investigations streams.
Key Responsibilities:
As an APS5 Compliance Officeryour responsibilities would include:
- Reviewing financial disclosure returns to assess accuracy, completeness and legislative compliance
- Conducting compliance reviews and enquiries relating to electoral funding and disclosure obligations
- Assessing election funding claims and supporting funding determinations
- Processing and administering election funding payments in accordance with legislation and policy
- Identifying risks, issues and inconsistencies within financial information and disclosure documentation
- Preparing explicit and accurate reports, recommendations and correspondence
As an APS5 Investigations Officeryour responsibilities would include:
- Assisting with investigations into suspected breaches of electoral legislation and disclosure requirements
- Reviewing documentation,
evidence and financial records to identify potential non-compliance
- Analysing data and intelligence to detect emerging risks, trends and high-risk behaviours
- Supporting regulatory compliance strategies and enforcement activities
- Preparing investigation briefs, reports and recommendations for decision-makers
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting defensible investigative outcomes
About You
To be successful in these roles, you will demonstrate:
- Prior experience within a Federal Government compliance, investigations, regulatory, audit, integrity or assurance environment (highly regarded)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information and identify risks or issues
- Experience working within legislative, regulatory or policy frameworks
- Excellent written communication skills, including preparation of reports, briefs and recommendations
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality outcomes
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- A collaborative and adaptable approach to working within evolving regulatory environments
Highly regarded:
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or willingness to undertake) for Investigations-focused roles
- Qualifications or experience in accounting, commerce, finance or related disciplines for Compliance-focused roles
Mandatory Requirements
- Australian Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening requirements
- Commitment to political neutrality and impartiality
