Key responsibilities
Develop appropriate client focused, goal directed Occupational Therapy care plans to meet client identified needs
Work in a collaborative manner with clients, family and carers to ensure that Occupational Therapy service provision is client focused
Provide clinically appropriate occupational therapy assessment and management (including treatment, education and follow-up) to referred inpatients, aged care residents, and primary care clients
Work in collaboration with stakeholders to provide occupational therapy services using a restorative care approach under Active Service Model principles
Coordinate the planning, implementation and evaluation of multidisciplinary group programs (e.g. prevention and self-management programs)
Provide clinical supervision and education of Allied Health Assistants, in relation to delegated tasks
Manage an appropriate caseload reflective of a competent level of experience and within scope of practice
Provide direction and education to nursing staff to support appropriate care to achieve overall Occupational Therapy goals for clients in the acute and residential aged care units
Actively participate in a coordinated team approach to person centred care by attending team and discharge planning meetings, and liaising with internal and external service providers regarding client care
Ensure that clinical service delivery is conducted in accordance with evidence-based practice, best practice standards and effective clinical risk management
About you
Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
Demonstrated experience in the provision of timely and appropriate occupational therapy services to inpatients,
aged care residents, and primary care clients
Demonstrated highly developed organisational skills, including prioritization, time-management skills and appropriate case-load management
Knowledge of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of current Occupational Therapy practice across a range of clinical settings including community, residential aged care and acute environments
Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills
The ability to work collaboratively as an individual practitioner within a multidisciplinary team environment
Solid computer literacy skills, including the ability to utilise computer software programs and Microsoft Office products
Satisfactory Staff Immunisation clearance, current Police Record Check and current Working with Children Check

Beaufort and Skipton Health Service is a small rural health service that was formed on 1 October 1996 following the amalgamation of the Ripon Peace Memorial Hospital and the Skipton and District Memorial Hospital. The Health Service provides Urgent Care, Primary Care, Acute Inpatient, Residential Aged Care (Nursing Home and Hostel level care), and a Transition Care Program (TCP). Community and Allied health and home-based services include District Nursing, Home Care packages, Respite, Health Promotion, Diabetes Education and a large range of support programs. Beaufort and Skipton Health Service serve nearly 6,000 people in Beaufort, Skipton and the surrounding area.
