What you will be doing:
Responsible for efficiently managing the day to day production activities of concrete plants, to optimise the safety, business and operational results.
Good time management skills / Be able to prioritise work / Very high commitment to safety / People leadership and collaboration / Customer focus / Has the ability to multitask.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Safety & Compliance
- Record and report hazards, incidents, and near misses as they arise
- Utilise the 3C process to capture and resolve site safety concerns and hazards
- Actively manage contractor safety on site
- Conduct toolbox and face-to-face safety meetings as required
- Oversee day-to-day running of the plant and equipment
- Produce concrete in accordance with Australian Standards, Boral's Quality System, and approved mix designs
- Monitor and track water trim and water demand variability across mixes, gathering feedback from drivers
- Liaise with the Technical Manager promptly when variations in mix designs or material variability are identified
- Raise plant work orders (WOs) in a timely manner
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Batchers, drivers, visitors, and contractors
- Customer & Order Management
- Collect and reconcile all cash on delivery (COD) payments received at the plant daily
- Logistics & Fleet
- Assist allocators with tolling management and oversee tolling operations at the plant
- Support the Service Centre with efficient fleet allocations to reduce costs and improve customer service
- Reporting & Stock Control
- Prepare weekly and monthly stock control and material reconciliation reports
- Conduct monthly safety and environmental (EPP) audits, actioning all identified issues
- Coach, mentor, and support Batchers and Drivers to build their skills and knowledge
- Resolve minor on-site disputes in line with company procedures
- Promote a continuous improvement culture and identify process improvement opportunities
What you will need:
- Drivers License
- Minimum 6 months previous Batching experience
- White Construction Card
- Labouring Experience
- FEL VOC (Preferred)
- Confined Space Training (Preferred)
- Working at Heights Training (Preferred)
