Beaumont&Beaumont; are seeking applications forInvestigations Officers (Regulatory) at the APS5 level to join the Regulatory Division within a CommonwealthGovernment Agency in Canberra.
This role is for full-time hours, and for an initial period of around 12 months, with the opportunity for a short extension of up to 6 months. The vacancy is based in Canberra City Centre, with hybrid work considered on a case-by-case basis.
Ideal Candidate Characteristics:
A Certificate IV in Government Investigations (PSP40416) or other similar qualifications in investigations will be highly regarded.
Prior experience in Commonwealth Government or other roles performing investigations will also be highly regarded.
Experience supporting structured or compliance base work such as financial audits, quality checks or similar processes. You will be organised and able to complete tasks methodically and accurately while meeting compliance requirements.
Proven ability to analyse and interpret moderately complex to complex information, identify potential issues and provide timely, accurate, and well‑reasoned advice and support to decision makers.
Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in responding to evolving legislative requirements, changing work priorities and process changes.
Robust communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and engage confidently with internal stakeholders and external scheme participants.
The capability to manage your workload, prioritise effectively, and deliver high‑quality work within tight or competing timeframes.
A positive approach to teamwork and a commitment to supporting the goals of the Agency.
Duties of the Role:
Assist in gathering, analysing,
and documenting information to support investigations into potential anti‑avoidance schemes under various legislations. This will include reviewing documents and financial information to identify gaps or issues and providing well-considered advice to support decision‑making.
Apply data and intelligence tools to proactively identify high‑risk behaviours, entities, and schemes that may pose a compliance risk. You will use your analytical skills to assess patterns or indicators of non‑compliance and contribute to the design of targeted compliance strategies.
Assist in preparing clear and accurate briefing materials, reports, and correspondence for decision‑makers. You will contribute to maintaining quality standards and supporting a consistent approach to investigations.
Support the processing and payment of election funding to eligible political parties and candidates in line with legislation and internal procedures.
Other important information
Flexible work or work from home may be available for this role, however details of any individual arrangement will be determined subject to operational needs and approval from the client. Candidates should therefore be prepared for this role to be an in-office role.
